Eid Celebrations at ISNA

Alhamdulilah, another blessed Ramadan has ended – 30 days and 30 nights of prayer, worship and breaking fast together at the Islamic Centre of Canada. And with that comes the well-earned celebration of Eid Al Fitr with our beloved family and friends. Once again this year, Eid Al-Fitr celebrations at ISNA Canada culminated in the Eid Festival – an evening of games, entertainment, food and family fun.

An exciting program was planned for children and adults. At the Kid’s Carnival, children enjoyed jumping in the bouncy castle, playing carnival games and eating fun food like popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones. Children were also treated to face painting and henna designs done by our talented volunteers.

Our main program featured our beloved Shaykh Abdalla Idris Ali, who spoke about the significance of Eid Al Fitr. We were honoured to have the esteemed Members of Parliament Sven Spengemann (Mississauga – Lakeshore) and Iqra Khalid (Mississauga – Erin Mills) speak at the Eid Festival and join in our celebrations and festivities. There were live performances by local talent in addition to fun games and prizes for attendees, followed by delicious dinner and dessert.

The Eid Festival was coordinated and run by a team of staff and volunteers of all ages who showed true dedication and passion in putting together this event to help everyone celebrate a beautiful holiday. A special thanks to our volunteers for their hard work and service to our community by putting together an Eid celebration for all to enjoy.

ISNA Canada’s Eid Festival was a success! Many thanks to our wonderful and vibrant community for joining us in the Eid Al Fitr celebrations.
